We Stand In Unwavering Solidarity With Immigrant Communities
The California Work & Family Coalition stands in unwavering solidarity with immigrant communities in California and across the country. We unequivocally condemn the actions of ICE, including the kidnapping and detention of our community members, the violent and militarized targeting of communities in their workplaces, schools, and places of worship, and the repressive response to protestors exercising their First Amendment right to speak out against injustice.
We believe that every person deserves to live with dignity and to care for themselves and their families. We envision a world where all people, whether currently working or not, have the power, time, resources, and support systems to care for themselves and their families, whether biological or chosen, to build collective community, and to rest and pursue fulfilling and healthy lives. These ICE raids are an assault not just on individuals, but on our vision of shared care, justice, and belonging.
The California Work & Family Coalition remains committed to ensuring access to Paid Family Leave, Disability Insurance, and the right to care and heal, regardless of immigration status. Our work to expand time to care and protections for all workers is inseparable from the fight to protect immigrant communities from criminalization and harm.
We call on all people to commit to taking action to stand in solidarity with immigrant communities:
