Introducing UCLA Labor Studies Interns, Abby and Elizabeth!

Hi all! My name is Abby Van Diepen and my pronouns are she/her. I am currently in my fourth year at UCLA with a major in political science and a minor in labor studies. This is my third year working as a Resident Assistant and I also volunteer for Matriculate at UCLA, where I advise high school students through their college and financial aid applications.

I'm interning with CA Work and Family Coalition because I feel passionately about workers' rights and am seeking to learn more about organizing to create change.

Hello, Everyone. I am Elizabeth Aguirre, in my fourth year at UCLA. I transferred to UCLA with an AA in communications and am working on my B.A  in Labor Studies. I volunteered for the Rape Treatment Center of UCLA for four years. As the daughter of a single mother, I feel very drawn to helping people and helping bring resources to my community and other communities that are often overlooked.

I am now an intern for the California Work & Family Coalition, and given their goals, I am drawn to their work. During my free time, I enjoy traveling, reading, working out, and spending time with my family. I am excited to learn more and help continue the work being done.
